Stephanie Alvarez was born in November 30, 1986 in Chicago, Illinois. Alvarez work is both narrative and surreal. Her work is inspired by the imagined memories of nostalgic and dream-like environments. The themes seen on her work revolve around surrealism, magic and realism. Most of her work is inspired by melancholy, nostalgic memories, dreams, sentimental and warm emotions to dark nightmare creations.

 

Alvarez graduated from the Illinois Institute of Art- Chicago on September 2013 with a B.F.A, in Photography. She earned an Honorary Mention from Gallery 914 for her work entitled "Drowning Soul." She recently earned first place for her piece swimming through for her work entitled "Inundated Dreamscape."  Her work will be seen in an upcoming publication with the Alabama's Writers Collaboration. Her pursuit for new experiences pushes her to continually evolve and be creative. Alvarez currently resides in Chicago, Illinois.
